Executive Alignment… Generating a shared understanding and commitment among senior leadership

Lack of executive alignment—sometimes invisible to insiders and outsiders alike—often results from executives having different views on the “hard truths” about the business. A weak read of external signals, or a built-in bias to interpret new information in ways that reinforce what we already believe, keep executives from forming a clear, shared, and objective perspective on the organization’s challenges, opportunities and most importantly a decisive path forward. As senior leaders independently pursue their own view of business needs, the power of the organization is diluted across multiple, sometimes conflicting, initiatives.

We work with Executive Teams to ensure that diversity of opinion enhances rather than diminishes business performance. Through facilitated workshops we tackle some of the organization’s most perplexing challenges, helping executives learn how “straight talk” is required when circumstances demand change. Through the process, executives learn to work as a unified team, use conflict constructively, increase the speed and quality of decision making, and build more trusting relationships with their peers.

Our work often begins with one or two simple workshops to achieve executive alignment on an important issue. Other times, we are invited to facilitate an already planned meeting just to ensure the high quality conversations that produce high quality results.
